Tips to design an organized, clean and neat study room

Every house has a room which is used purely for study or work purposes, this is the study room. A study room is meant to be cosy, quiet and warm. It should not have any distracting elements like a television or a bed, to help you be efficient and focused while working or studying there.

The study room is a space that should reflect a person’s character and individuality. It should be organized, furnished, and decorated in a way that allows the user to feel comfortable and productive and should not include distractions. However, this does not mean it has to be austere and boring. The two basic elements of a practical home office or study nook is that the space should be professional and comfortable. Professional doesn’t mean it has to be standard office decor, it should be neat, clean, and super-organized. To reach this target, here are some tips you need to remember.

Desk  and  Chair

Always go for a well-designed desk  and chair. Since you are going to spend maximum time on your desk, it must feel comfortable. Plan for proper storage and open shelves to keep your stuff organized. Scale down to the size of your children. You can also used this desk as a computer desk in the study room if you don’t want to put the computer in the bedroom. With a computer in the study room, you will have chances to work there if have to work overtime at home. Place some pot plants on the desk shelf,  which will protect your eyes and release oxygen for fresh air.  Possibly the most comfortable item in your study room should be the chair. Ergonomically designed, well-fitted to the need and design scheme of the space overall. The height of the chair should allow your knees to be bent also at 90 degrees and your feet should rest flat on the floor. You are able to play computer games or reading books by sitting in the comfortable chair. Whenever you enter into the study room, it must be a comfortable and soothing atmosphere for people to stay.

Lighting

The study corner will require soft ambient lighting and a task light next to the desk like a reading lamp with a throw that can be adjusted. It’s also good to have plenty of natural light in this room. The reading chair should be comfortable and ergonomically designed. If there is shortage of natural light, then add table lamps or floor lamps, it provides easy access and control to the direction and intensity of the light.

Bookshelf

The functional areas of the study corner should be planned well. You can place a bookshelf, which is usually the essential component for a study room. There may be professional books, literature books story books and so on. With the bookshelf, you can put the these books on the shelves organized and classified, and put your family photo frames on the shelves, too. A bookshelf will enable your study room look with taste and reflect your good characteristics. And it would be aesthetically pleasing if the bookshelf is used correctly. It’s not a very big bookshelf, just occupying less space.  This one is equipped with two large drawers to store and conceal all your clutter and chaos. But if you like reading books and there are many books to store, maybe you have to consider exchanging a bigger storage bookshelf.

A study room may be small or big, stuff may be little or much. No matter what condition it is, you are supposed to keep this space clean and neat, organized. Common people like keeping home in this way, not only for aesthetic pleasure, but also for a cozy living environment. The study room is a place for leisure or working. People sometimes need private time and space to free themselves. When you are free, just stay in the study room, take a book from the bookshelf, and sit on the comfortable chair to read to get your heart inner peace.
